The Novelty Search Workstation of University Town Library of Shenzhen is recognized by the Ministry of Education as a "Science and Technology Novelty Search Workstation of the Ministry of Education" (L26) for science and engineering disciplines. It is the only novelty search and consulting agency in Shenzhen with ministerial-level functions. This novelty search station provides science and technology novelty search and consulting services to universities, government agencies, industrial and mining enterprises, and scientific research institutions in Guangdong Province and neighboring provinces.

Novelty search request

1.Please download the "Novelty Search Entrustment Agreement (Blank).doc" (WORD document, please save before opening) and fill in the technological key points and novelty points with reference to the template. The number of novelty points should not exceed three, and they should clearly state the key innovations of the novelty search project, striving to be concise and to the point.

2. Fill in the novelty search entrustment agreement. The technological key points should truthfully and comprehensively describe the main technical characteristics, inventions, innovations, parameters, and main technical indicators of the project. Avoid vague descriptions unrelated to the main technical content as well as decorative or advertising language. Novelty points are generally extracted from the technological key points or represent the entire key technology within them, but do not list general technical characteristics of the novelty search project as novelty points, as this may affect the conclusion of the report.
3. Submit the completed novelty search entrustment agreement directly to the novelty search contact person or send it as an attachment to the email: chaxin20098@163.com。
4. For in-person entrustment, please bring the electronic version of the novelty search entrustment agreement for face-to-face discussion and a reply. For remote entrustment, a reply will be given within one working day of receiving the agreement. If you do not receive a reply, please contact us by phone at 26032360.
5.You need to provide relevant technical materials, such as research reports, summary reports, project application documents, published papers, patent applications, relevant literature, etc., which can be in printed or electronic form.

Scope of Work

The library mainly handles novelty searches for science and engineering disciplines. Given the scarcity of novelty search units in the province, to meet user needs, with the support of sister units, it also engages in novelty searches for other disciplines. For some disciplines, when the conditions for novelty searches cannot be met, novelty search services will not be provided temporarily.

Scope of Service

Through computer searches, manual searches, and other means, using comprehensive analysis and comparison methods, we provide literature verification results for evaluating the novelty of scientific research projects, research achievements, etc. The main services include:

1. Scientific research project establishment: including the application for various levels and types of science and technology plans, data collection before the start of scientific research projects, etc.
2. Application for scientific and technological achievement awards.
3. Identification, evaluation, acceptance, and transformation of scientific and technological achievements.
4. Patent applications.
5. Technical consulting (such as technology introduction and transfer, new product development, special research, etc.).
6. Others (such as doctoral thesis proposal, etc.).

Fee Schedule

1.Science and technology novelty search belongs to the category of information consulting services and is provided on a paid basis.
2.Upon formally accepting a science and technology novelty search request from a user, the personnel immediately enter the search process. Formal entrustment is marked by the user signing a "Science and Technology Novelty Search Entrustment Agreement" according to the type of search and paying the search fee.

3.Fees for Science and Technology Novelty Search:
(1) Domestic and international novelty search: 2000 yuan, 8 working days.
(2) Domestic novelty search: 1000 yuan, 5 working days.

4.Users requiring urgent service shall pay an urgent service fee. The standard for urgent service fees is 200 yuan per day.

(1) Domestic and international novelty search normally takes 8 working days, with urgent service taking a minimum of 5 working days.
(2) Domestic novelty search normally takes 5 working days, with urgent service taking a minimum of 2-3 working days.

5.Generally, two originals of the novelty search report are provided. If the user requires additional copies, they should specify this beforehand and pay an additional production fee of 20 yuan per copy. The printing fee for attached materials is 1 yuan per page.

6.These fee regulations are effective from September 26, 2007.
